Tips for Accounts Payable Scanning

To get a good scan result in Scan Tailor and minimize errors in Accounts Payable software, follow the following rules when scanning:

·         Do not scan in black and white - scan in grayscale, or, if necessary - in color.

·         Do not scan at a resolution below 300 DPI. More is better, but both scanning and processing slow down. Usually scan at 300 or 600 DPI.

·         Avoid scanning in JPEG is a lossy format, and further re-saving JPEG to other formats will no longer return quality.

·         When scanning, the TIFF format is usually used, but be careful - TIFF can use jpeg algorithms for compression. As a rule, it is possible to set saving parameters in TIFF format, then you need to select the compression method LZW - this is lossless compression format. If this is not possible, scan it in PNG format - lossless compression algorithms are guaranteed, or, in extreme cases, BMP files are uncompressed and therefore huge, and, in addition, they are not accepted in Scan Tailor, so they will need to be In the future, convert to one of the formats using lossless compression.

·         Avoid the "Document" scanning mode, and generally try to disable all options for improving the scans. A single improvement (ST) is always better than a two-fold (software for scanning, then ST).

·         If the scanned book is printed on thin paper and there is a translucence effect on the back of the page, you can recommend inserting a sheet of black paper into the next and previous spreads at least on the turns containing illustrations.

To know Accounts Payable Scanning in more details, now you can follow these tips too:

Begin scanning the collapsible mechanisms from the collected state

When scanning a subassembly, component, or moving mechanism, the original position of all parts is scanned first. After that, the mechanism can be disassembled and digitized each element individually.

Fix mobile elements of the object

If there are movable elements on the object, they must be securely fixed before scanning.
